a new year

So here we are... a new year, a new temporary home, a hunt for a new job.
Who would have known that a year ago today I was just a few weeks away from having our first baby and then things would end so crazy for us in '09? NOT US! The year ended for us with Eric's company shutting down, celebrating Christmas in California, flying back and packing up our things for two places... a temporary home, and a storage unit. We only had 1 1/2 days to pack before some friends came to help move us. It took a little longer to get out of our last place since things were going to two different places... we needed to make sure we knew what box they were going in and if we REALLY needed it at the house with us.

We Rang in the New Year with no tv, I was totally sad because I didn't get to see the ball drop. (since we moved here to florida we have never been able to see it because we have been at friends homes and they aren't into the whole Dick Clark New Year special) instead we rented some movies and just before midnight we went into the backyard, heard a dj from a neighboring party do the countdown and got to see some sweet fireworks from another neighbor. All under the big bright blue moon!

This is where we will call home for a little bit. We are living in just the downstairs and it is HUGE! Way awesome though that Eric's cousin offered us to stay here... guess there are blessings in life.

baby's first christmas

We spent Paisley's FIRST Christmas in California... She loved the lights, the wrapping paper, bags and tissue paper... is that really a surprise?! She got spoiled to the max with toys which is awesome because she was in desperate need of some!

Okay so I know P is still way young to even understand what the heck the holidays are all about, but we LOVE Christmas in this home and now that we have a kid we are ready to start new traditions!

This is my new motto... I have to live by this for the next few weeks in order to survive the chaos that comes with moving.

We went to the park with Eric! Of course again Paisley loved the swings... so did daddy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we hosted our very first thanksgiving. It was a total success thanks to my sister in law who practically did everything... I did all the appetizers and she did all the main meal... our guests brought dessert! It was ALOT of work... I must admit I am thankful for family in the past who had us over for dinner.

This year I am thankful for:
1. My beautiful healthy daughter
2. My awesome husband who stops at nothing for his family
3. That we survived all the layoffs his company had during the year, it may be rough at times to be away from my husband but in the end it pays off... just like everything else.

swing high...

The day we left to come home back to Florida, my mom and I took Emma and P on a walk to the park just around the corner. It was Paisley's first time on the swings and the slide! The look on her face was priceless, I wish Eric was there to see it. She kicked her little legs with excitement... I look forward to taking her again... with Eric!

408 mx

Trevor invited us to come watch him practice a few laps around a local track. Paisley was surprisingly NOT bothered by all the noise (secretly jumping up and down) we also got to catch up with some friends who were there... it was a fun afternoon.

G.G.

Everytime I go home to visit my grama is anxious to see miss p. This time Paisley was more interested in her dog I think... she kept laughing at him over and over, it was funny!

how cute

These two are so cute together... I think Emma is happy that Paisley can now do something for her... drop food off the highchair as treats for her! Once it's time to eat Emma runs over and grabs a spot next to me on the floor and just waits for it to drop down... it actually helps me with the clean up HA HA HA!

BOO!

Happy Halloween! Paisley dressed up as a skeleton for her first spooky night... we went trick or treating in my parents neighborhood and filled her ghost bag to the brim.

go SHARKS!

My brother took me and Paisley to a San Jose Sharks NHL Hockey game! We had a fabulous time... they won after the longest shootout competition I have ever seen... Paisley stayed awake the entire game!

sprinkles cupcakes

One word... YUMMIE!
This place is popular with the famous. They now have a location near my hometown... we went we got a bunch we stuffed ourselves!

sock fight

Getting Paisley dressed now is a complete challenge. She has to be holding something or it is a total fight because she tries to roll over. Well... she also has this fascination with plastic, why I have no idea, whenever I am holding a plastic bag I have to hold it down so she can't see it, if it is near her she screams to have it. Maybe it is the sound of it that she likes, maybe it is the feel of it she likes... WHO KNOWS... but it is so not a good thing. When I was trying to get her dressed to go to the sprinkles cupcake store she was having one of those moments. So I caved thinking the bag was zip locked closed... well... and as you can see all the things inside the bag came out... and she was quite pleased with herself!

future barista?

My cousin Lori manages a local Starbucks... it was Paisley's second time in one... ahhh the smell of coffee is delicious. Too bad we don't like it... or maybe that is a good thing... I am already addicted to too many things!

i love my brother

When I was growing up, I was and still am close to my brother. We talk almost every single day, we can tell each other anything, we will always be there for each other. It is truly amazing to sit back and watch him with Paisley. I know once he has children of his own he is going to be the best dad!

hello bff

Meet Nicole... she and I were best friends back in high school. I had many best friends (so none of you get your panties in a bunch) well... thanks to facebook we have reconnected and it has been FABULOUS! She now lives in Washington, and since we now live on the other complete coast, the thought of us getting together was in our plans but that would mean one of us would have to do the traveling. Well... since I was out in California and she was out in California for a relaxing trip we met up! It was so wonderful to have her meet P and see her after 8 years! I really missed having her in my life...

california bound

This visit was courtesy of my dad! He is the best dad EVER! It was supposed to be a two week trip that got extended into a almost 4 week trip... which we all know was because of Paisley and not me... hee hee. We left later in the day than normal when we fly to Cali. I kinda liked it though to be honest. Paisley just cut her first tooth and I was not quite sure how the flights would go. She was a little fussy, mostly because she isn't used to being held to go to sleep... so she was awake for most of our two flights. During our layover in Atlanta... I had the window to entertain her... she just loved looking out and seeing all the workers, airplanes coming and going!
